LEAP: Learn, Explore and Play!
Thursdays, September 23  November 18
9:30–10:30 a.m.

$155 ($132 for Lincoln Park Zoo members) for one 9-class series

For children ages 2–4 and an adult
(cost is per child; children must be 2 years old)

Enjoy a morning of investigating and exploring the natural world through play.  Children guide the way as they choose whether to dig in the dirt, manipulate loose parts, create a collaborative work of art or settle in with a story underneath a canopy of colorful fabric. Learn and grow together as you play alongside a wondrous world of animals.

Participant Guidelines

  • Up to two adults can accompany each child during classes; one is required.

  • Children 12 months old or younger are welcome to attend an older sibling’s class at no additional charge as long as you can keep them on your person or in a stroller for the duration of the session.

  • Children over 12 months old must wait until they reach 2 years old to attend.

  • Children who have aged out of LEAP (ages 5 and older) cannot attend the class but are welcome to spend time in the buildings once class is over.

  • NEW! Outdoor Only - All activies will be stationed outside, and we encourage participants to dress for being outdoors: rain, shine, or snow (we will have access to the buildings to store personal items, use the washroom, and shelter from dangerous weather).

LEAP is a nut-free program. Due to the prevalence of allergies we ask that any snacks you consume during LEAP class do not contain nuts; this includes peanuts as well as tree nuts such as almonds, cashews, walnuts, pine nuts, etc. Program materials provided by LPZ staff will not contain nuts.

Parking is not included.

Health & Safety

  • Lincoln Park Zoo respectfully requires – for the safety of the animals in our care – that all guests continue to wear face coverings at all times in animal buildings. LEAP will be stationed outside as much as possible, but we encourage participants to bring face coverings if they are medically able to wear them.

  • Keeping health and safety in mind in a post-COVID world, we are reevaluating our material offerings and returning to a "less is more" approach. We will continue to roate theme's on a 3-week basis, but each theme's materials will remain the same. This will allow staff to more thoroughly sanitize materials and monitor objects for damage.

Cancellation Deadline: September 4. Lincoln Park Zoo adheres to a strict cancellation and refund policy. If for any reason you need to cancel your registration before the deadline, a refund will be issued, less a 12.5 percent processing fee.  After the deadline, refunds are not available.
